Cassis graduated with a BFA in ceramics from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2013, over the past decade she has worked in many different ceramic industries. From paint your own pottery studios to handmade tileworks. since 2021 Cassis has been working at Mid-south Ceramics and is a resident artist at the Clay Lady’s Campus. For the last 5 years She has been building a strong foundation in her artistic voice and vision. Tidals Edge is a collection of work that is inspired by science fiction and 18th century explorers.
Bernadette Design Studio is an outlet for her love of tile and the craft behind tile making. Tile has been a through line throughout her life and pursuing that is a privilege.
Both creative endeavors are deeply rooted her early childhood experiences living in Sardinia Italy. Digging discarded tiles out of the dump with her mother and exploring the tide pools and beaches of the Mediterranean
